Steps and Apple Health

The iPhone app requests permission to read step totals from Apple Health. It does not write Health records. Personal step totals are cached on your device. Team step sharing is optional: if you enable it, daily step totals are uploaded for the team’s weekly challenge and used in its standings. Other team members can see shared challenge results. You can turn sharing off in the app and manage Health permissions in Apple Health.

Accounts and teams

Clerk provides GymStride authentication, including the account information you supply and identifiers returned by a sign-in provider you choose. Supabase hosts GymStride’s team memberships, invitations, sharing preferences, and shared challenge totals. GymStride accounts and permissions are separate from GymEdge and GymMeet.

Website and account emails

Vercel hosts this website and its account-email endpoint. Postmark delivers transactional account emails, which necessarily include the recipient address and message content. Email open and link tracking are disabled in GymStride’s relay. Service providers process operational information needed to run, protect, and troubleshoot these services.

Your choices and requests

You can use local step features without creating an account. You can sign out, leave a team, disable step sharing, and clear cached step totals using the app’s controls. Clearing local totals does not delete Apple Health records or close your account. For access or deletion requests, contact chris@gymtechpartners.com. We may need to verify account ownership before acting.

Before public release

GymStride is not yet available for general release. Additional release information, including applicable retention details and eligibility requirements, will be provided before public launch.
